How to get a car accident report in Wyoming

The short answer
Wyoming Highway Patrol crash reports are requested by contacting the Accident Records line directly. No online request portal or listed fee could be found on the Highway Patrol's website today. A driver must immediately notify local police, the county sheriff, or the state highway patrol of a crash that hurt or killed someone, or that left a vehicle too damaged to drive safely.
Which agency has your report
The report comes from the agency whose officer came to the crash. On interstates and state highways that is usually the state police or highway patrol. On city streets it is the city police, and outside city limits it is often the county sheriff. Ask the officer for the report number before you leave the scene.

Your reporting duties
When you must report to police
A driver must immediately notify local police, the county sheriff, or the state highway patrol of a crash that hurt or killed someone, or that left a vehicle too damaged to drive safely.
“The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident shall immediately by the quickest means of communication give notice of the accident to...The local police department if the accident occurs within a municipality; or...the nearest office of the state highway patrol or to the office of the county sheriff”
Whether you must file your own report
Wyoming no longer requires drivers themselves to file a separate written report with the state. Instead, any police officer who investigates a crash involving injury, death, or a vehicle too damaged to drive must send a written report to the highway department within 10 days.
“Every police officer who investigates a motor vehicle accident shall forward a written report of the accident to the highway department within ten (10) days after his investigation of the accident”
