How to get a car accident report in Nevada

The short answer
You can request a Nevada Highway Patrol crash report online using the crash number, the last name on the report, and the crash date. It costs $10 and is usually ready 7 to 14 days after the crash. A driver must report a crash to police right away if someone was hurt or killed, or if the crash happened on a highway and no officer is already there.
Which agency has your report
The report comes from the agency whose officer came to the crash. On interstates and state highways that is usually the state police or highway patrol. On city streets it is the city police, and outside city limits it is often the county sheriff. Ask the officer for the report number before you leave the scene.

Your reporting duties
When you must report to police
A driver must report a crash to police right away if someone was hurt or killed, or if the crash happened on a highway and no officer is already there.

Whether you must file your own report
If a crash causes injury, death, or about $750 or more in damage, the driver must also send a written crash report to the Nevada DMV within 10 days.
