How to get a car accident report in Arkansas

The short answer
Arkansas crash reports are requested online through the Crash Report Online Purchase System. Each report costs $25, and most reports are available within 10 business days of the crash. A driver must notify the nearest law enforcement agency right away if a crash causes injury or death, or if total property damage appears to be $3,000 or more.
Which agency has your report
The report comes from the agency whose officer came to the crash. On interstates and state highways that is usually the state police or highway patrol. On city streets it is the city police, and outside city limits it is often the county sheriff. Ask the officer for the report number before you leave the scene.

When you must report to police
A driver must notify the nearest law enforcement agency right away if a crash causes injury or death, or if total property damage appears to be $3,000 or more.
“The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to or death of any person or total property damage to an apparent extent of three thousand dollars ($3,000) or more shall notify the nearest law enforcement agency immediately.”
Whether you must file your own report
Arkansas does not require the driver to separately file a written crash report with a state agency. The driver's only duty is to immediately notify police, and file a supplemental report only if the Arkansas State Police asks for one.
“The Division of Arkansas State Police may require any driver of a vehicle involved in an accident that must be reported under this section to file supplemental reports whenever the original report is insufficient in the opinion of the division and may require witnesses of an accident to render reports to the division.”
